Croydon Bathroom

This Croydon bathroom began as a cramped and outdated space that didn’t make the most of the home’s footprint. A careful reconfiguration opened it up while keeping its heritage character intact. What emerged is a functional, inviting bathroom that adds both comfort and long-term value.

In this Federation cottage in Croydon, the original bathroom was small, awkwardly planned and well past its prime. Ageing sewerage lines required a complete overhaul, which created the perfect opportunity to reimagine the space entirely. By incorporating the former linen cupboard into the footprint, we were able to reclaim valuable floor area, and a new door set within the existing arched opening allowed us to retain the home’s beautiful heritage detail.

The dated shower-over-bath and timber vanity were replaced with a clean, contemporary layout tailored to modern living. The new design includes a generous walk-through shower, a separate bath (soon to be installed), heated floors and towel rails, and a spacious double vanity. Concealed shelving and ample storage behind the mirrored cabinet keep the space calm, functional and clutter-free.

The result is a bathroom that brings a sense of everyday luxury to this charming Federation home, enhancing both comfort and usability. And because a well-designed bathroom is one of the most effective ways to increase property value, this renovation offers benefits that extend well beyond the daily routine.
